At our school, women of all ages, sizes, and walks of life are able to come together and express themselves through this healing and mesmerizing form of dance. Our beautiful studio space provides a relaxing and warm environment to explore the ancient, feminine movements that make up our artform. Orlando Bellydance offers Group Classes, Private Instruction, Solo and/or Troupe Performances, and special Workshops/Seminars in Middle Eastern Dance .
INDIAN "BOLLYWOOD" WORKSHOP!
Orlando Bellydance Proudly Presents an authentic Bollywood workshop with acclaimed Indian Dancer, Shainna!
What is Bollywood? "Bollywood" is a term used to describe the Indian film industry; the word itself is a conflation of "Bombay," the previous name for the city of Mumbai in India and and America's own "Hollywood." This dance form finds its routes in the seven classical dances of India, and over the generations, Bollywood has diverged and embodies a coalescence of various dances worldwide. Performances range from solemn, graceful mannerisms to upbeat and lively motions all of which are filled with emotion and easily portray the artist's affection to the audience.
This special four hour workshop will feature terminology, technique, and a full original choreography by Shainna.
When? Sunday, July 27th and August 3rd from 7:30-9:30pm at our secondary location, The Longwood Ballroom.
Cost for this workshop is $45 in advance, $55 at the door if spots are available. Registration now open by credit card over the phone, or at either Orlando Bellydance location.

Oasis Honors of Middle Eastern Dance
Orlando Bellydance's own Suspira and Orlando Dance Theatre recently won the 2007 "Oasis Honors of Middle Eastern Dance" , having been chosen for their outstanding service in the national American bellydance community. This special contest honors indiviual and group accomplishments in the field of Middle Eastern dance throughout 2005 and the beginning of this year. All prize money will be donated to Cancer Research. Thank you to all who voted for us to receive this very special honor.

In Other News.....
Orlando Dance Theatre's "Hipquake" show was broadcast on Arabic Television to critical acclaim last week. Dvds of this special show are available at both studio locations. Production for "Hipquake 2", set to hit the stage in 2007, is already in the works.
Suspira was just honored by receiveing inclusion in this year's "Who's Who of American Women" by Marquis. This special book highlights the achievements of the most noteworthy women in the country who have made important contributions to society. Suspira was chosen based on her continued excellence in Dance Education and commitment to helping American Women improve their health, personal growth and quality of life.
WESH Channel 2's "Best Dance Studio"!
